The Design/Build concept has been becoming more and more popular with contractors and homeowners since the 1990s and it focuses more on negotiated contracts and less on bidding with multiple contractors. Done well, the business model gives the remodeler the ability to make higher margins and it gives the homeowner a more predictable, enjoyable process.

Neil Parsons, based in New Jersey, has been the owner of a remodeling company, has been in sales since 1983, and through his current company, is consulting with remodelers across the US on a daily basis.
